A 26-year-old man is set to replace long-time Illinois House speaker Mike Madigan as representative of the 22nd district. Democrats chose Edward Guerra Kodatt yesterday from a pool of applicants. Madigan held the seat for over half a century and says he hopes his successor with put the people of the 22nd district first. Madigan remains the chairman of the Illinois Democratic Party.
