FTC: Social Media Is No Place For Your COVID-19 Vaccination Cards

We’re all excited that you got your vaccine because that means we’re one step closer to getting back to “normal.” But the Federal Trade Commission is urging people to stop sharing a picture of your filled-out vaccination card as it’s ripe for identity theft.

According to the FTC website, “Your vaccination card has information on it including your full name, date of birth, where you got your vaccine, and the dates you got it. When you post it to Facebook, Instagram, or to some other social media platform, you may be handing valuable information over to someone who could use it for identity theft.”

Want to share the news about your vaccination? How about a photo of a nifty adhesive bandage on the injection site?  Or, post a photo of your vaccine sticker.
