Hundreds of Motorists Stuck on Southbound I-55

A crash that injured several people on southbound I-55 had it blocked at between 355 and Route 53. At about 5 a.m. a crash involving a pick-up truck and car occurred in the center lane southbound I-55 near route 53. Illinois State Police is investigating and motorists had been stuck for nearly three hours. They were not letting any vehicles through. In the 8 o’clock hour Illinois State Police opened I-55.
