Illinois AG Calls For Ban On Fees Charged By Mortgage Servicers

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is leading a group of 22 attorneys general in calling for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to ban mortgage servicers from charging convenience fees.  The coalition says these types of convenience fees are some of most exploitative fees consumers face.  In a letter, Raoul and the others urged the CFPB to evaluate convenience fees in the mortgage industry.
