Illinois House Task Force Considering Reagan Statue On Capitol Grounds

A statue of former President Ronald Reagan may be placed on the grounds of the Illinois Capitol. The House Statue and Monument Review Task Force is debating the nature of Reagan’s legacy and whether memorializing him on the site would be appropriate. Reagan was born in Tampico and spent much of his childhood in Dixon. No decision has been made.
