The state of Illinois is working to prevent another Board of Elections hack. The state BOE was hacked by Russia in 2016, compromising 76-thousand Illinois residents’ information. The state has implemented a program called the Illinois Cyber Navigator Program, with each county as a member. The program looks for vulnerabilities in the system, ensuring ballots that are cast can’t be tampered with.
