Lockport Fire Medics Resuscitate Child After Being Rescued From Burning Home

Lockport Fire Department medics resuscitate a child after being rescued from a burning home. Lockport Fire companies responded to a structure fire at 60 Kentland Drive in Romeoville just after 7 p.m. on December 3rd. The fire was quickly extinguished at the two story, single family resident. The blaze was contained to the one room, however, there was a great amount of smoke and heat damage rendering the building inhabitable. The 11-year-old boy was transported to Bolingbrook Hospital. In addition, the mother of the child was evaluated by paramedics on scene, but, refused transport to the hospital.

Lockport and Romeoville fire investigators responded to the scene and will be conducting the origin and cause investigation. Romeoville Police are also assisting with the investigation. The family was taken to the police department for further investigation.
