Madigan, House Republicans React To Arroyo Resignation

Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan is not happy with the circumstances of Representative Luis Arroyo’s resignation. Madigan says the federal bribery allegations against Arroyo are beyond extraordinary and every effort is needed to restore the public’s trust. House Republican Deputy Minority Leader Tom Demmer says there’s no way the public trusts the General Assembly while also calling for Senator Terry Link to leave the Legislative Ethics Commission. It’s believed Link wore a wire in the FBI’s probe of Arroyo. He’s also under federal investigation.
