Authorities are investigating a man’s death following a reported home invasion in south suburban Crete Township. The victim, 63-year-old Francisco Aranda, was found dead in the trunk of a vehicle yesterday parked in a garage attached to a home in the 26000 block of South Klemme Road. A 59-year-old female victim was found in the vehicle told officers two masked men entered the home the night before to rob her and her husband. She was treated at a hospital for minor-to-severe bruising on her body. The female victim remains at the hospital and is reported to be in good condition.  She is expected to be released sometime today. She is fully cooperating with detectives. Monday at 10:25am, deputies with the Will County Sheriff’s Department were called in reference to a welfare check when both victims did not show up for their respective jobs.  Upon arrival at the residence, deputies located the victims inside a Chevy Impala that was parked in the attached garage. The female advised deputies that her husband was in the trunk of the vehicle.  Deputies located the husband who was deceased. Crete Fire transported both victims to area hospitals. Initial information indicates that the victims were targeted by the offenders in order to rob them.
