Chicago Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot is thanking voters after yesterday’s huge win over Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle. The landslide victory made the former prosecutor the city’s first African American female and openly gay person elected mayor. Lightfoot started the morning by greeting commuters at the CTA Clark and Lake station in downtown Chicago. She also hopes to meet with Mayor Rahm Emanuel sometime today.
