State Senator From Morris Announces Run for Re-election

State Senator Sue Rezin announced her campaign for re-election to the State Senate in the 38th District.

A former school board member, Sen. Rezin has made improving educational opportunities for children in her district a top priority throughout her career. Aside from her work at the statehouse, she teamed up with local partners to establish the Grundy County Summer Internship Program and the Operations Engineering and Technician technical program at Joliet Junior College and was honored with the prestigious Legislator of the Year award for her work on behalf of community colleges.

Sen. Rezin was elected to the Illinois Legislature in 2010, and currently serves as the Senate Republican Deputy Leader. She sits on several committees including the influential Senate Executive and Joint Committee on Administrative Rules Committees.

As the Minority Spokesperson on the Senate Energy and Public Utilities, Sen. Rezin led Senate Republican negotiations this year’s comprehensive energy legislation that passed with bipartisan support to save thousands of jobs in Illinois and keep costs as low as possible for ratepayers while reducing our carbon footprint.

Sen. Rezin lives in Morris with her husband Dr. Keith Rezin and is the co-owner and manager of her family’s real estate company. Together they have four adult children.
