U.S. 30 Bridge Work in Joliet Starts this Week

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a bridge deck overlay with joint repairs on U.S. 30 over the CN Railroad tracks between Maple and Walnut streets, in Joliet, will require lanes closures and width restrictions starting, weather permitting, Wednesday, June 12.

In order to complete the project, U.S. 30 will be reduced to one lane in each direction with a width restriction of 8 feet 6 inches.

The work is expected to be complete by the end of November.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
